On Sunday 18 October, Chana hosted the second Cycle of Life Jewish Doctors Conference at the Kasner Centre in Hendon, bringing together medical professionals, religious leaders and community representatives from across the UK and beyond.
First held in Brighton in 2024, the conference was established by Dr Sharon Raymond, GP, to promote greater understanding of the needs of Jewish patients and encourage more inclusive, culturally sensitive healthcare.
Open to medical professionals of all faiths and none, the conference welcomed attendees both in person and online, with speakers from across the medical, religious and community sectors.
The programme covered a wide range of topics, reflecting the different considerations that can arise throughout the cycle of life. These included pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, male factor infertility, end-of-life decisions, burial requirements and the growing challenges of antisemitism within healthcare.
One of the highlights was a panel discussion exploring end-of-life care from medical, religious and social perspectives, demonstrating the importance of understanding patients' physical, emotional, spiritual and family needs when making complex decisions.
Chana was delighted to host and support this important initiative, which reflects the value of bringing different professional perspectives together to improve understanding and patient care.
