To everyone who walked, fundraised, sponsored and cheered us on this year, thank you!
You committed to making every step count, and you truly succeeded, raising an incredible £64,000, more than double the original target. Today, we want to show you what that means in real terms, for four couples whose journeys to parenthood you have helped carry forward.
Ben and Daniella – £19,500
Ben and Daniella, a couple from Edgware married four years, had always assumed any fertility struggles would be on Daniella's side. Chana’s medical panel suggested male fertility investigations, revealing a severe male factor infertility issue. Ben found it hard to even say the words out loud. Thanks to a grant of £19,500 Ben can now access the recommended specialist treatment pathway, as well as therapy to help him process what he is going through.
Sophie and Rafi – £8,600
Sophie and Rafi from Hendon already had a son, born easily and without complication. When a sibling didn't follow after two years of trying, the diagnosis of secondary infertility caught them off guard. Worse, their struggle was dismissed with comments like "but you a have a child." Having one child also means they were not eligible for NHS funding. Chana funded £8,600 of treatment for Sophie and Rafi, allowing them an opportunity to grow their family.
Mark and Shani – £12,650
After the birth of their first child, Mark and Shani learned that he has a hereditary genetic condition that runs in Mark's family. They were told there would be a high chance of passing on the condition in any future pregnancies as well. Chana's scientific advisor worked closely with the couple to explore PGT-M, a process that allows embryos to be tested before implantation so that only unaffected embryos are used. Your donations funded £12,650 of this intricate treatment, giving Mark and Shani the chance to break this challenging cycle.
Dalia and David – £18,000
Dalia and David married later in life, and the years that followed were marked by a heartbreak they carried mostly alone, as age related infertility made conceiving increasingly difficult. Chana stood beside them through investigations, treatment decisions and the emotional toll of watching time work against them. £18,000 of your fundraising went towards their care, giving this couple renewed hope at a stage in life when so many had told them to give up.
Each of these stories represents a couple whose dignity you have protected and whose future you have helped shape. Every step you took on the day mirrored the steps they continue to take in real life, always with Chana by their side.
