Dena has worked at Chana as a Support Worker, counselling couples and individuals, providing them with therapeutic assistance for over 10 years. She is a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, using varied modalities of practice to help clients through their counselling journey. Dena holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Goldsmith University of London and a Master’s degree from The Tavistock Portman Clinic University East London in Adolescent Psychodynamic Counselling. 

She has trained in EMDR, Ego State, trauma and dissociation with Kathy Steele, Childhood Emotional Neglect with Jonice Webb MD and has further training in Complex Trauma, ANS Polyvagal theory, Attachment theory, Compassion Focused therapy, Intergenerational trauma, Mindfulness and Positive Psychotherapy. 

Dena uses her training to help clients explore and deal with their anxiety, abuse, traumatic memories, depression, and lack of motivation.

Her early work at Raphael Jewish Counselling, Barnet Adolescent Services and as the lead therapist in a London NHS surgery has provided the foundations for her work. 

Dena has been in private practice for over 20 years and has experience working with adolescents and adults presenting with many difficulties and with her extensive ongoing training is eclectic in her approach.  She brings full engagement and active participation to her sessions with clients and is adaptable to their needs.

Dena is an accredited member of the BACP and a full member with Nefesh International.
